Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and PromptAbide (“PromptAbide”, “we”, “us”), based in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. They apply to the website at www.promptabide.com, our API, and the PromptAbide browser extension (together, the “service”).

By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms, our Community Guidelines and our Copyright Policy, which form part of them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

• You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract.
• You must not be barred from using the service under the laws that apply to you, and we must not have previously banned your account.
• If you use the service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these Terms for it.

• Give accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date. One person, one personal account.
• Keep your password and devices secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us straight away at hello@promptabide.com if you think someone else has accessed it.
• Your username must not impersonate anyone or infringe someone else’s rights. We may reclaim a username that does.
• You can see and sign out your devices, deactivate your account, or delete it at any time in Settings. See Data Deletion.

“Your content” means anything you post: bides (prompts, example inputs, variables, outputs and notes), questions, answers, comments, articles, images, video and profile information.

You keep ownership of your content. To run the service, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, reproduce, adapt (for example, resize images or format text), publish, display and distribute your content on and through the service, including in feeds, search, embeds, link previews, share cards, notifications and the machine-readable versions of our pages, and to use it to promote the service. The licence lets us sublicense to our service providers only so they can do this for us. It ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies others have already made, copies in backups until they roll off, and content we must keep by law.

You promise that:

• you own your content or have the rights needed to post it and to grant the licences above;
• posting it does not break any law, contract or anyone else’s rights, including privacy and intellectual property rights;
• any output you show as produced by a prompt is what that prompt actually produced on the model you name, and you have the right to share it under that AI tool’s terms.

We do not claim ownership of your content, and we do not sell it or license it to AI companies to train models. We may remove or restrict content that breaks these Terms, but we do not check everything before it is published and we are not responsible for content posted by users.

You must not host, display, upload, modify, publish, transmit, store, update or share any information that (as listed in Rule 3(1)(b) of India’s Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021):

• belongs to another person and to which you do not have any right;
• is obscene, pornographic, paedophilic, invasive of another’s privacy (including bodily privacy), insulting or harassing on the basis of gender, racially or ethnically objectionable, relates to or encourages money laundering or gambling, or promotes enmity between groups on the grounds of religion or caste with the intent to incite violence;
• is harmful to children;
• infringes any patent, trademark, copyright or other proprietary right;
• deceives or misleads anyone about the origin of a message, or knowingly and intentionally communicates misinformation or information that is patently false and untrue or misleading;
• impersonates another person;
• threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with foreign states, or public order; incites the commission of any cognisable offence; prevents the investigation of any offence; or insults any other nation;
• contains a software virus or any other computer code, file or program designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer resource;
• is an online game that is not verified as a permissible online game, or advertises or promotes one; or
• violates any law in force.

You also must not:

• post prompts designed to make an AI system produce illegal or seriously harmful material, such as child sexual abuse material, malware, or instructions for weapons capable of mass harm;
• post AI-generated or altered media of a real person that could be mistaken for real without clearly labelling it, or any sexual or intimate imagery of a real person without their consent;
• post other people’s personal data, or secrets such as API keys, passwords or access tokens;
• spam, run fake accounts, or manipulate likes, votes, views, follows or rankings;
• scrape the service in a way that harms it, bypass rate limits or access controls, probe for vulnerabilities outside our responsible disclosure rules, or interfere with other users; or
• use the service to build a competing dataset or product by bulk-copying other users’ content, except as our public API, robots.txt and agent guidance allow.

Prompts and outputs on PromptAbide are shared by users. AI models change and behave unpredictably, so a prompt may give you a different, wrong, biased or unsafe result. Everything is provided for information only: it is not professional advice (legal, medical, financial or otherwise). Check any output before you rely on it, and follow the terms of the AI tool you use.

Our optional AI suggestions (for titles, topics, keywords and rewrites) are generated by a third-party model, are labelled as AI-generated, and are only published if you choose to use them. You are responsible for what you publish.

PromptAbide is independent. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Microsoft, Midjourney or any other AI provider named on the site. Their names and logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to identify their tools.

The service itself, including its design, code, logos and the PromptAbide name, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by law. These Terms give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the service as intended. They do not give you any right to our trademarks. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without any obligation to you.

You can report content from the menu on any bide, question, answer, comment or profile. Copyright complaints follow our Copyright Policy. Other complaints, including under India’s IT Rules 2021, go to our Grievance Officer at hello@promptabide.com, as described on the Grievance Redressal page.

We may remove or restrict content, or disable access to it, when it breaks these Terms or the law, or when we receive a valid court order or government direction. Where appropriate and lawful, we tell the person who posted it and give them a chance to respond.

You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may warn you, restrict features, suspend or terminate your account, or remove content, if you break these Terms or the law, if you create risk or legal exposure for us or others, or if we have to by law. Where reasonable we will tell you why and give you a chance to appeal through the Grievance Officer. For serious or repeated breaches we may act without notice.

We may change, pause or stop parts of the service. If we stop the whole service, we will give reasonable notice and a chance to download your data where we can.

Sections on content licences (for content already shared), disclaimers, liability, indemnity and disputes survive termination.

The PromptAbide extension is covered by these Terms and by the Extension Privacy Policy. It only captures from an AI tool’s page when you ask it to, and only publishes what you confirm. You are responsible for making sure that what you capture and publish is yours to share and does not include confidential or personal information. Using the extension on a third-party site does not change that site’s own terms.

PromptAbide is currently free. No paid features, subscriptions, wallets, credits, premium plans or paid badges are offered, even if you see references to them in our code or interface. If we introduce paid features, we will publish separate terms for them, including pricing, refunds and cancellation, and you will have to accept those terms before paying for anything.

We work hard to keep PromptAbide useful and available, but the service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that any content (including prompts and AI outputs) is accurate, complete or fit for your purpose. Content posted by users is theirs, not ours, and does not reflect our views. Nothing in these Terms affects rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived.

To the extent the law allows:

• we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive losses, or for loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill; and
• our total liability to you for all claims about the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (currently nothing, because the service is free) and (b) USD 100 or its equivalent in your local currency.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

If you are a consumer in the EU, EEA or UK: we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these Terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, and we do not supply the service for business use by consumers.

If you use the service for business purposes, or to the extent the law allows otherwise, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and losses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from a third-party claim caused by your content, your breach of these Terms, or your breach of the law or someone else’s rights. We will tell you about the claim promptly and let you take part in the defence. This does not apply to the extent a loss was caused by us.

Please contact us first at hello@promptabide.com: most problems can be solved quickly and informally. If a dispute is not resolved within 30 days, either of us may take it further.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Gautam Buddh Nagar (Noida), Uttar Pradesh, India have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from the service.

If you are a consumer living in the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts of that country. Consumers elsewhere keep any rights that the law of their home country does not allow to be excluded.

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in the service or the law. The version and “Last updated” date at the top show the current one. For significant changes we will give you notice in the app or by email before they take effect, and ask you to agree to the new version. If you do not agree, you can stop using the service and delete your account.

• Entire agreement. These Terms and the documents they refer to are the whole agreement between you and us about the service.
• Severability. If a court finds part of these Terms unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
• No waiver. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.
• Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours as part of a reorganisation or sale of the service, without reducing your rights.
• Events outside our control. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events we cannot reasonably control.
• Language. These Terms are written in English. If we provide a translation, the English version governs to the extent the law allows.
